Now that FanExpo has passed (which was AMAZING) and I don't have to sew until October when I need to fix up my X Men First Class cosplay to wear to school (Maia and I are going to be the bossest people in class), the next big thing to look forward to is school.
So my last first day of high school is this coming Tuesday. It's really weird to think about how quickly high school has gone by, but I absolutely wouldn't change my time there for the world.
I know for most people high school is one of the crappiest times of their lives; intense workload, peer pressure, self conscious about looks, relationships, etc, but I mean, I guess that I never minded the work and in terms of peer pressure, I've gotten over trying to be what people want me to be like and have accepted myself and all my glory. This year I plan to have fun and go all out with the things I love to do, like Halloween or spirit days. No more hiding.
Also with this coming year I need to apply (and hopefully) be accepted by Universities across Ontario. Now, I have had my sights on going to OCAD University (strangely now a College and University?) so I am most definitely going to apply there, but I am concerned about compiling my portfolio and if I am not accepted. I'm concerned that, despite my greatest effort, they won't let me in. I know that this makes sense seeing as people are always turned down, but going to OCAD and living in Toronto has been my dream for forever, and I will do whatever it takes to get there. Until the time comes though, all I can do is create some original pieces and hope for the best.
Now the other great thing about this year is the Vimy Ridge trip in April. I AM SO PUMPED FOR THIS TRIP BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO LONDON OMFG. Well, we're also going to Paris and Versailles which are fascinating but still, LONDON ~ I am going to fit right in with the British community since all of the programs I watch are mainly from BBC. <3 I am so going to buy myself a new Sonic Screwdriver since mine came with a shattered battery cell and I shall stock up on Jelly Babies.
Anywho, this was a boring journal, but I'm just super excited about this coming school year (unlike so many I know).
